RICS Dispute Resolution Service (DRS) - Training and Empanelment of Arbitrators

Due to the huge backlog of legal cases, alternate dispute resolution mechanisms (ADRs) are gradually becoming the preferred mode of dispute resolution. The spectrum of ADR consists of Negotiation, Mediation, Dispute Resolution Boards and Arbitration. The recent amendment to Indian Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996, mandates appointment of institutionalized arbitrations from institutions recognized by Arbitration Council of India. Thus, in near future, all arbitrators will need to be empaneled to a recognized arbitral institution.
